Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a holistic health technique that stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine practices in which trained practitioners stimulate specific points on the body by inserting thin needles into the skin.

Today, acupuncture is one of the most popular practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the West. TCM is a complimentary health approach that first originated in ancient China more than 2,500 years ago and has been evolving ever since.

Acupuncture is most commonly sought out for its pain-relieving quality.  Here at Dakota Natural Health Center, we use acupuncture for:

  • Allergies/Sinusitis/Asthma
  • Joint Pain (neck pain, back pain, knee pain, etc.)
  • Muscle pain and Fibromyalgia
  • Menstrual Irregularities and Menopausal Symptoms
  • Anxiety, Depression and Insomnia
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Fertility Enhancement
  • Digestive Concerns

The most common question asked is “Will this hurt?” and generally speaking the answer is no.  Any time the skin is pierced, it is possible to feel momentary discomfort, but the process itself is not considered painful.  The needles used are only slightly wider, in diameter, than a human hair (much, much smaller than the needles we tend to think of, like safety pins or blood drawing needles).

Acupuncture is a safe, affordable and well established way to accelerate the process of reaching your health and wellness goals!
